PTAL have been appointed by Neilcott Construction Group to deliver a new 3FE special educational needs school in Strood, Kent.
The mixed use scheme provides 249 apartments on 16 floors with 17,000ft² Commercial Space (Retail/ Office) at Ground Floor Plaza level. The scheme employs modern construction methods such as lightweight façade construction and pre-fabricated pod bathrooms, which reduced the on-site build period and onsite waste.
PTAL won a design competition amongst One Housing Group’s Framework Architects to redevelop their existing Estate of 84 maisonettes on a prominent site on the edge of the town centre facing Kidwells Park. Led by Katherine Mann, Design & Planning Director, PTAL then obtained planning consent for the replacement of the 84 dwellings plus an additional 120 new apartments for private sale on the site.
